Do It For Johnny!

The Walla Walla Skate Park Association (WWSPA) is pursuing funding for the Mill Creek Sportsplex Skate Park through a series of grant requests and hands-on fundraising. Numerous small fundraisers have occurred including a series of contests at the Fort Walla Walla skate park (with sales of t-shirts and raffles), several benefits at a local music venue for teens, carwashes, and a TV commercial (“Do it for Johnny”) to heighten awareness. Our biggest event thus far in 2008 was a dessert faire and silent auction sponsored by AmeriCorps (they have adopted the WWSPA as their 2008 project of the year). It was held in two of the Marcus Whitman’s banquet rooms on March 28th and featured auctioned items from local merchants (restaurants, wineries, sporting goods, art, lodging, etc.). A great time was had by all as we generated nearly $6000 in two memorable hours!

Skate Bricks

Walla Walla Skate Park Association Fund Raiser

Hands-on fundraising by the WWSPA and local skaters is focused primarily on our “Skate Bricks” donor appreciation fundraiser. Through the generosity of WWSPA Vice-President Carmen Castaldo (Castaldo Stone & Tile) granite bricks have been made freely available to honor donor’s contributions to the skate park expansion. The bricks are individually engraved with the donor’s name and/or logos (wholesale engraving by Wylie Monuments). During the time of the skate park construction, Castaldo Stone & Tile will oversee a group of skaters in the installation of the bricks in various monuments and skateable sections of the park.

The 3 different sizes of Skate Bricks that can be donated and engraved are:
3” X 7” Skate Bricks……………… $50.00
11” X 15” Skate Bricks………..… $250.00
18” X 23” Skate Bricks………..… $500.00+
(Small bricks are text only. The medium and large bricks include text and graphics. These are the perfect Skate Bricks for business to display their name and company logo.

To make a donation to the the skatepark fund you will need to:

1. Download a "Skate Brick" donation form and print it out (click here).

2. FIll out the donation form and mail or drop it by to one of the following locations :
